(Healthier) Holiday Mocktail Recipe
Updated: May 3, 2022
The holidays are such a fantastic time for baking, eating good food, and trying out new sweets. While its a very delicious and enjoyable time, sometimes it becomes a little too much.
I know I eventually get a little overstimulated from extra sugar or heavy recipes. By the end of the holiday season or a party weekend I'm like no more please!
So if you want to get festive with healthier options, it's still possible! Break up some of the heavy holiday foods with some healthier options and you'll end the season feeling a lot more cheerful!
I've been making holiday mocktails on repeat because of how easy and delicious they are. This healthy holiday recipe specifically is hydrating, full of vitamin C, and tastes like the holidays because it's infused with Rosemary.
You—and your holiday guests—are going to love this one!
Cranberry Orange Mocktail Recipe
WHAT YOU NEED
sparkling water
water
cranberry juice
an orange
fresh rosemary
ice
a strainer, maybe a cheesecloth, or anything you can strain small items with (I use a tea diffuser!)
HOW TO MAKE ROSEMARY INFUSED SIMPLE SYRUP
2-3 tablespoons of water
a few pieces of chopped rosemary
a spoonful of raw honey
This fun healthy cocktail trick can be used again and again to pair with your favorite mixed drinks!
Using it in this mocktail elevates the final product from a regular drink to a holiday drink—at least I think so.
Making rosemary-infused simple syrup is actually really, well, simple with this recipe.
The best part is that you can make it to taste depending on your preferences. (Basically use more rosemary or more honey if you want the flavor to be stronger.)
To make the syrup, combine water, honey, and chopped rosemary into a microwaveable jar or on the stove.
Stir and shake until the water boils. Strain the water to remove as much as you can of the rosemary from the syrup. Let it cool.
HOW TO MAKE THE MOCKTAIL
Strain the Infused Simple Syrup into your cocktail glass
Add a few pieces of ice
Put Sliced Oranges in the glass
Fill glass 3/4 full with sparkling water
Fill the rest of the glass with cranberry juice
Garnish with any extra rosemary and serve!
Making Healthy Mocktails
Mocktails are such a fun way to keep things festive when you don't want to drink alcohol or are looking for healthier alternatives.
I love making my mocktails as healthy and hydrating as possible because, to be honest, I get so bored of water and I like to shake it up. If I'm not in the mood to make a mocktail, I'll definitely turn to something like Nuun for fun hydration, but when I've got a few extra minutes a healthy mocktail is the way to go.
I hope you enjoy! If you did, leave me a comment below so I know I'm recommending recipes that are more than just things that I like. 😂 And be sure to comment your favorite healthy mocktail recipes—especially if they're holiday themed mocktails—so we can all try them out too!
